About The University

• Medical University - Pleven is one of five medical universities in Bulgaria, established in 1974 as an expansion of the City Hospital founded in 1865.
• It offers educational and therapeutic facilities, including a University Hospital with over 1000 beds and clinics in all major medical fields, as well as specialised clinics and research units with modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
• Students can enroll in one of the three faculties (Medicine, Public Health, Health Care), a Medical College, and a specialised Department of Language and Specialized Training.
• The university has a diverse student body, with over 6000 Bulgarian and international students from over 30 countries graduated from the University, and currently has 2044 students, with 519 international students studying Medicine in English.
• The university employs highly qualified lecturers and utilises various contemporary teaching methods, including lectures, practical tutorials, and seminars.
• Extracurricular academic courses and scientific circles are offered.
• Housing is available in the two student hostels with over 400 beds.
